MUMBAI: Pakistani based duo 'Zeb and Haniya' have entered Bollywood with their vocals and musical style. The two are not just exploring Bollywood opportunities, but also focusing on their solo career. Zeb has already begun her journey with a soothing duet- 'Sooha Saha' from the movie Highway, which also features Alia Bhatt and is composed by AR Rahman.

Zebunnisa Bangash fondly called Zeb, started her music career with her cousin Haniya (Haniya Aslam) in 2007. The duo is known in the music industry as 'Zeb and Haniya'. Along with exploring their solo careers, they are also focusing on their duo projects. During her conversation with Radioandmusic.com, Zeb said, "I miss her a lot. I miss Han's musical style. I also miss her companionship. We are like sisters. We have been together always."

She stresses that it feels different. She further added, "There was never a point in my musical journey that I have done something without her." But Zeb feels that this is a challenge and learning experience for both artistes. "Now, I am doing everything on my own. I am taking my own risks and it has been good. We are discovering each other independently," Zeb acknowledged.

Sharing her experience working on the film Highway, she said it was director Imtiaz Ali who suggested her name to A.R. Rahman. Talking about her upcoming projects, she said that she is associated with two Bollywood projects. She also revealed that one film will feature her vocals with Haniya's compositions.

In past, Zeb had sung for Madras Café, for music composer Shantanu Moitra. Her association with Moitra is well known for the track 'Kya Khayaal Hai' which featured on 'The Dewarists'. It was sung by Zeb, Haniya, Shantanu Moitra and Swanand Kirkire. Zeb and Haniya have also been part of Coke Studio Pakistan, Season two and three, and would like to participate again.

When asked about her future plans, she said she does not plan, but goes with the flow. "I always had a philosophy to do things as they come, to participate on various projects and not plan things."

Their work is widely appreciated in Afghanistan, Turkey, Singapore, United States, Canada and India. She hopes that she would be able to perform in front of her Afghanistan fans as there have been numerous requests from the country.
