MUMBAI: The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2014 which is set to take place this April has revealed its line up and headlining the event will be hip hop duo Outkas, British rockers Muse and indie rock band Arcade Fire. The three day festival, which will be held for two consecutive weekends, will see Outkast perform on Friday 11 and 18 April, Muse on Saturday 12 and 19 April and Arcade Fire on Sunday 13 and 20 April.

Like always, the festival will cater to fans of various genres. Other artists that will be performing over the two weekends include Pet Shop Boys, Lana Del Ray, Queens of the Stone Age, Calvin Harris, MGMT, Beck, Ellie Golding, Skrillex, HAIM, The Replacements and Numeral Milk Hotel. Also performing at Coachella 2014 will be previously announced rock icons Motorhead and 2013's breakout artist Lorde.

While there is no doubt that the festival will draw fans from all over, there will be a lot of focus on Grammy award winning Outkast, best known for their hits 'Hey Ya!' and 'Ms Jackson'. The duo, which includes Antwan 'Big Boi' Patton and Andre 'Andre 3000' Benjamin, has been on hiatus since 2007.

Tickets for the festival start at $375 for a three day pass and go up to $799, based on various VIP add-ons and configurations. Most of the festival's tickets were sold in May as a pre-sale and the remaining will be available from 10 January onwards.

Event organisers Goldenvoice claimed that last year, they sold three day passes to about 90,000 attendees. This year's edition, which is to be held at Empire Polo Club, will see a maximum attendance of approximately 99,000 people, inclusive staff and security personnel.
