2013: 10 Bollywood Tracks

Bollywood is best known for its impromptu dances that break out in random places accompanied with its catchy tunes. Radioandmusic.com gives its readers a countdown of the year 2013's catchy tunes that proved to be the talks of the town and rocked the chart busters.

1.Tum Hi Ho: Needless to say, the song composed by Mithoon and sung by Arijit Singh, The composition is superb and has a nice edge to it. The song dominated the chartbusters for more than 18 weeks. The composer walked away with a couple of awards for the most entertaining song of the year and the song of the year. Apart from this, the composer is known for the tracks like Maula Mere Maula and Javeda Zinda from Anwar and Phir Mohabbat from Murder 2. Whilst Arijit Singh is renowned for his tracks like Raabta from Agent Vinod.

2.Gulabi: the song has a Rajasthani flavour to it with drums and dhol which actually grows on you. Gulabi was composed by the music duo Sachin- Jigar for the film Shuddh Desi Romance. The vocals of Jigar and Priya Saraiya leave a soothing effect to your ears. The track has surely given a kick to their careers.

3.Badtameez Dil: Well, here we have the vocals of an amazing singer and a performer, Benny Dayal. The song from the film Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani has some peppy lyrics, with the composition of none other than Pritam. The track is fast and it is fun listening to the same, thus bagging a spot on the top 10 hits of 2013.

4.Ambarsariya: This song from the film Fukrey, has rustic vocals of Sona Mohapatra. Composed by Ram Sampath, the background arrangements are totally western with acoustic guitar riffs and harmonica, and that is a novelty. The song definitely deserves to be amongst the top 10 tracks of 2013.

5.Jeene Laga Hu: The duo, Sachin Jigar again is dominating the chartbusters with the song, Jeene Laga Hu from the film Ramaiya Vastavaiya. The vocals of Shreya Ghoshal and Atif Aslam soothes your ears. The tune is addictive, the musical arrangements mesmerising (santoor and guitar) and lyrics simple but effective, thus has bagged the spot amongst the top 10.

6.Tum Tak: the track from the film Raanjhanaaa, has strummed the hearts of millions, credit to the Czar of Music AR Rahman. Lyricist Irshad Kamil has done a commendable job. The shehnai and tabla combination gives this love song a spiritual touch and the song once again proves why Rahman is called the Czar of music.

7.Lungi Dance: One can never miss out on the party number of Yo Yo Honey Singh who sung Lungi Dance, for the movie Chennai Express. This colourful tribute to 'Thalaivaa' Rajinikanth from the film Chennai Express became an instant hit with the masses.

8.Nagade Sang Dhol: The track from Ram-Leela, deserves to be on the list as it has brilliant composition by the director-composer Sanjay Leela Bhansali and of course the new age nightingale of Bollywood, Shreya Ghoshal. The song has a touch of garba- the Gujarati folk.

9.Dhat Tere Ki: This track composed by the music duo Vishal Shekhar is another party number sung by the newbie, Sanam Puri and Aditi Singh Sharma. It is a nice, party club number with strong retro influences and has a lovely groovy rhythm that urges one to put on their dancing shoes

10.Dhoom Macha Le: The title song of Dhoom 3 has bagged its spot amongst the top 10 of 2013. The title track Dhoom Machale Dhoom packs a real punch, retaining its signature tune. Kudos to the singer Aditi Singh Sharma and Pritam for his composition.
