MUMBAI: ABC Studio’s ‘One Upon A Time’ is by no means a bright and happy show. And now its creators have added a darker element to the fairytale drama by signing on rocker Marilyn Mason. According to reports, Manson will be featured on the show as a voice guest in the third season. The singer is expected to make his vocal debut by mid- November in the eighth episode.

The 44 year old ‘Sweet Dreams’ singer is slated to be the voice of ‘The Shadow’, a character that has already been seen a few times in the new season. Executive producers/ creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis, who broke the news about the casting in a joint statement said, “We've always been enormous fans of Marilyn Manson. We wanted to cast someone with the vocal ability to make our skin crawl.”

In its current season the ‘Once Upon A Time’ crew find themselves in a rather dark Neverland and are on a mission to save Henry (Jared Gilmore) from a villainous Peter Pan. And unlike the fun-loving, roguish character from the original Peter Pan, this version of The Shadow has been described as a “voice that will give life to the very essence of Neverland.” The Shadow has a penchant for soul stealing and kidnapping. Add Manson’s eerie voice to the mix and you are in for some serious and terrifying drama.
