Bickram Ghosh & Sonu Nigam to launch an album soon

MUMBAI: Music composer Bickram Ghosh and singer-turned-music composer Sonu Nigam have just finished their film project Sooper Se Ooper. But the duo is planning to carry on their musical journey together for few more projects.

“We have almost completed an album titled ‘Khamakha’ but we are not planning to unveil it anytime soon. We will start the promotion by December-January. Currently, we are concentrating in promoting music of the film Sooper Se Ooper,” said Ghosh to Radioandmusic.com. This album will have seven songs sung and the lyrics are penned by Sonu Nigam. The songs are composed by Ghosh and Nigam.

Just giving minimal information about the album, Ghosh continued speaking about the music of Sooper Se Ooper which has around six songs. Due to busy schedule, it took them two years to complete the album. “We also worked on various projects like ‘Jal’ and then we had our own album all this accounted for the delay.” He added, “The songs display the clear divide between urban and rural space as it goes well with the film.” The music is a blend of folk Rajasthan music and modern day trend in cities like Mumbai. The film is shot in Mumbai and Rajasthan as the plot of the film moves back and forth in the location in reel life.

There are tracks like Whacky Zindabad which has rap and then there are contrasts like Gunn Gunn Gutarr which is heavily influenced by folk Rajasthani music.

Four tracks are penned by Sanjeev Tiwari and then there is Sonu Nigam and Shabbir Ahmed who have also penned one and two tracks respectively. “Sonu has driven the lyrics. He has just penned one track but he has driven all the songs. He is a brilliant writer and lot of credit for the lyrics goes to him.”

He further added that his journey so far have been brilliant. “We at times are sitting composing unaware of the fact that we have worked all night.”

Currently, they are in talks with Prahlad Kakkar who will be directing a film. Ghosh did not divulge any detail on the same.
