MUMBAI: The mayor of Australia’s Gold Coast has asked pop super star Justin Bieber to clean up the mess he made after the singer spray painted a wall of the hotel he was staying in. According to reports, the ‘Baby’ singer painted abstract graffiti on a wall of the tennis court area of the QT Hotel, Gold Coast while on his ‘Believe’ tour in Australia.

Bieber, along with his entourage painted colourful cartoon characters, which he later posted on his Instagram page, attracting over 545,000 likes. Even the hotel management were said to be delighted with “piece of art in appreciation of his stay.” However, the locals were not all that impressed with the singer’s artwork.

Tom Tate, mayor of the Gold Coast said that the hotel might be ordered to remove the graffiti. A spokesperson for the mayor said, “This eyesore has no place in the city. If that's the example Justin wants to set, it's really unfortunate. But at the end of the day it'll get cleaned up, whether or not he decides to."

Reports say that the mayor’s office sent the 19 year old a graffiti removal kit at his hotel. But the Canadian singer had already left for his concerts in Sydney. To make it clear to Bieber that he was serious, the mayor posted on Twitter, “Glad you had a great time on Australia's #goldcoast. Hope to see you back soon to clean up your mess. Make me a #belieber".

The graffiti incident is the latest in a string of untoward incidents that the singer has been embroiled in during his ‘Believe’ world tour. His 10-date Australasia tour warps up on 8 December at Auckland’s Vector Arena in New Zealand.
