Narendra Modi's broadcast announcement provokes social media into action

NEW DELHI: The announcement that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to make a broadcast to the nation on All India Radio later this week has set the social media abuzz.

In fact, Modi has himself received a feedback on the frequency of such a broadcast, with the largest percentage – 46.18 – opting for monthly broadcasts. A total of 19.57 and 14.98 per cent of the respondents wanted the broadcasts once a week and twice a month respectively.

Just 6.12 per cent wanted the broadcast once in every quarter whole 4.59 per cent wanted him to speak once in two months.

Other figures that emanated on the mygov.in website were: Daily - 0.45 per cent, half yearly - 0.92 per cent, thrice a year and thrice a month – 0.61 per cent respectively, and twice a quarter and annual – 0.31 per cent respectively.

A total of 3.36 per cent wanted him to speak off-topic or on the media.

Different names were also suggested for these broadcasts. Sarkar se Sarokar, Jan Anubandha, Ghar Ghar Modi; Aaj Ki Baat, Pm Ke Saath; Pradhaan Mantri Ke Saath Radio Pe Charcha; PM On FM; Aakashvani Ke Sath Pradhanmantri Ki Janvaani; Aap Ki Mulaqat Pradhan Sevak (Mantri) Ke Saath; Aapki Sarkar Aapka Swar-Talk to Your Pm; Bharat Ka Vikas; and PM Jan Jan Ke Sath.
