BBC Bangla on 6 city tour to promote FM programming

MUMBAI: BBC World Service will directly connect with audiences in six cities in Bangladesh in a special interactive campaign beginning 11 November. A BBC Bangla-branded bus has started from Khulna to travel to Rajshahi, Sylhet, Rangpur, Comilla and Chittagong - where the BBC broadcasts on FM frequencies - inviting audiences to "speak up" and share their views on issues important to them. The discussions will be broadcast on BBC Bangla FM frequencies across Bangladesh.

Playlist names former Facebook exec as CEO

MUMBAI: Social media network Playlist Inc named former Facebook executive Owen Van Natta as its chief executive officer, says a Reuters report. Van Natta will work with online music provider Project Playlist. At Facebook, Van Natta served as chief operating officer and chief revenue officer. Prior to Facebook, Van Natta was Vice President of Worldwide Business and Corporate Development at Amazon.com and was part of the founding team of A9.com, the Amazon search company.

T-Series ends contract with Kumar Sanu

MUMBAI: Super Cassettes Industries Ltd has abstained from renewing its contract with singer Kumar Sanu. According to the contract signed on 7 August 2004, Sanu was signed by the music label and sang exclusively for T-Series till earlier this year. Sanu says he is now relieved by the company and is free to sing for any other party without needing the music label's consent. The singer confirms, I was bound by a four year contract with T-Series but now the contract hasn't been renewed....
