NASA launches internet music station 'Third Rock'

MUMBAI: NASA has launched a custom-produced Internet music radio station �Third Rock: America's Space Station' which aims to spread the space exploration and other studies amongst its listeners. The new radio station will broadcast new rock, indie and alternative music and can be accessed from NASA's official home page. The radio station will also be available through NASA iPhone and Droid mobile applications. The station is being developed and operated at no cost to the government through a space act agreement.

IPRS authorized to take action against auditorium for Copyright Infringement: HC

MUMBAI: The Indian Performing Rights Society Limited (IPRS), which safeguards the copyrights of music composers and lyricists, can now initiate legal action not just against organizers of plays and shows but also against the auditorium screening them in case of copyright infringement. The IPRS which had approached the Bombay High Court challenging an order issued by the state government de-recognizing the body said that it had never and would not demand for auditoriums to seek No Objection Certificate (NOC) before screening plays and shows.

Pandora Increases Listenership in Top Radio Markets

MUMBAI: Pandora, the leading personalized radio service, today announced its November 2011* listenership results, posting Average Quarter Hour (AQH) gains in each of the top ten radio markets in the country since the last published results for September. Pandora posted 13 to 25 percent AQH listening increases in each market with the biggest AQH gain of 25 percent occurring in the New York metro survey area. An AQH rating of 1.0 means an average of one percent of a target population was listening to Pandora for at least five minutes within a quarter hour window between 6.00 a.m.
