After Rahman, Kailash Kher to perform in Dubai

IIT Bombay annual fest 'Mood Indigo' goes global

MUMBAI: For the first time in 41 years, IIT Bombay's annual fest 'Mood Indigo' will go global by featuring four international folk dance groups. Groups from Indonesia, Turkey, Spain and Poland will participate in the four-day fest commencing from Sunday 18 December. IIT Bombay will be the first Indian Institute to host foreign groups in a college fest, states the release.

Madonna inks deal with Universal's Interscope Records

MUMBAI: Queen of Pop, Madonna has signed a three-album deal with Universal's Interscope Records which will earn her a base of $1 million per album. Being associated with Warner Bros for over 25 years, these albums will be the pop-diva's first record outside the label. The first album for Interscope is slated to be released in 2012.

Sony avails 'music unlimited service' on Walkman PMP series

MUMBAI: Sony has extended the 'music unlimited service' on its Walkman PMP series. The service will give access to music library of 10 million songs with two content sources, Channels and My Library. The Channels will feature radio-like collections based on era and genre, while My Library will allow users to sync music to their devices. The Walkman PMP series users will have to connect to their PCs to transfer content.

CDI Uses NOA to Deploy Industry's First Mobile Ingest and Digitization System

MUMBAI: NOA Audio Solutions today announced that Mexico's National Commission for the Development of Indigenous Peoples (CDI) has purchased two NOA audio-visual media digitization systems for its "Mediateka" project, which aims to preserve the complete cultural heritage of Mexico's indigenous peoples in a national archive. One of the systems is a mobile ingest and digitization system that will travel around Mexico capturing and converting audio sources into WAV and MP3 files.
