UK singer-songwriter George Ezra caps global breakthrough

MUMBAI: It's full speed ahead for breakout UK singer-songwriter George Ezra, whose Columbia Records U.S. album debut, Wanted on Voyage, is available in the US, 27 January both physically and digitally, including a deluxe iTunes version that offers three additional tracks. The album is already basking in global success, earning double-platinum sales in the UK and multiple turns at the #1 slot, (charting Top 5 in 8 countries) with Ezra recently nominated for four prestigious Brit Awards, including Best Male Solo Artist and Best British Album.

The 21-year-old musician has been riding high on his catchy single ‘Budapest.’ The unique song spent several months in the upper tier of the UK charts, one of the most streamed songs of 2014, recently passing the 100 million stream milestone on Spotify. First embraced stateside by multiple channels on Sirius XM, the song has soared at U.S. radio platforms, currently clocking an incredible 11 week reign at #1 in the Triple A format, a Top 15 presence at Alternative Radio, a rapid rise up the Adult Top 40 chart and even garnering early support from pop radio, as well.

The in-demand Ezra continues to gather steam generated by his tours across the United States. He is currently on tour with Grammy-nominated Sam Smith, and will join Grammy-nominated label-mate Hozier on his sold out run on March 2nd in Toronto, Ontario.  George's own headlining tour rolls out 24th March  and includes performances at the celebrated Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, where he will take the stage on 10 and 17 April. He also scheduled three additional shows during Coachella week; the culmination of an incredible spring on tap for the strong vocalist who one Chicago reviewer recently hailed as the 'next voice of England'.

Garnering acclaim from all corners, Ezra was lauded for his recent performance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show which aired 23rd January , and will continue to impress TV audiences with a performance on Conan on  29th January. VH1 has named the Hertford, England native their You Oughta Know artist for the entire month of February, the official launch date kicking off on 2nd February. The campaign will include Gung Ho video rotation on the network, multiple promos, interviews and an exclusive StopWatch performance of 'Budapest.'  Fuse has also included Ezra in their month-long Fuse Favorite new artist campaign, beginning on 26 January.

Vevo's buzzed-about DSCVR program, which features emerging artists, is also spotlighting Ezra with a two song showcase, including 'Budapest' and another popular album track, ‘Blame It On Me.’  George's episode premieres on the digital video platform on  16th February. NPR's All Things Considered will be welcoming Ezra on 26th January , and the award winning World Cafe will premiere Ezra's performance and storytelling acumen the first Week of February.
