Bappi Da's songs - 'Hit They Hit Rahenge'

MUMBAI: On the occasion of celebrated music director Bappi Lahiri's birthday, India's no. 1 FM network - Big FM spoke to Bappi Da in an exclusive conversation all the way from the United States of America. Providing listeners with a gateway to soulful music and interesting trivia from the timeless era of Indian Cinema, Big FM provides an interesting behind-the-scenes insight into Bappi Da's personal as well as professional life.

While conversing with RJ Siddharth, Bappi Da revealed some fascinating information about his music career that makes the legendary music director's work synonymous with Big FM's retro positioning and their proposition – 'Hit They Hit Rahenge'. He told Siddharth that he has indeed sung for not one but two generations of stars, lending his voice to some famous father-son duos of the industry. There used to be a time when Bappi Da gave his voice to top of the line celebrities of the yesteryears like Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra and Sunil Dutt. Later, he also ended up lending his voice to their sons – Abhishek Bachchan, Sunny Deol and Sanjay Dutt.

Sharing his heartfelt moments as well as the chemistry he shared with Bollywood Biggies like Kishore Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna, Mithun Chakraborty, Bappi Da also revealed that Indian Cinema's multi-faceted actor Kishore Kumar recognised his talent and gave him his first break in Bollywood at the young age of 20. He whole-heartedly expressed to RJ Siddharth the influence that Kishore Kumar had on his life and his career. In a heartfelt conversation about Kishore Kumar's last song that Bappi Da recorded, he also told RJ Siddharth about that evening when Kishore Kumar said, “Bappi, I make you laugh a lot during recordings, you will remember me when I am no more” post which Bappi Da received news that night about Kishore Da's death that still continues to leave a void in his life.

Revealing some more information like his rapport with the musician duo Vishal-Shekhar who gave him a breakthrough in the Indian music industry thus marking his entrance into genres working with younger musicians and music directors, Bappi Da is all set to provide his fans and audiences of Big FM a sneak-peek into his life, this birthday.
