Five things to watch in 'Indian Idol 10' this weekend

MUMBAI: All the top 11 singers of Sony Entertainment Television’s Indian Idol 10 have been regaling audiences across the world with their power-packed musical performances.

This weekend get ready to witness legendary lyricist Javed Akhtar, noted film maker JP Dutta and versatile singer Sonu Nigam take centre stage along with the top 12 contestants.

Sui Dhaaga Competition

Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan set the Indian Idol stage ablaze with their engaging acts and encouraging comments for all the singers who performed. Amidst the magnificent performances of the contestants, Anushka and Varun challenged the judges Neha Kakkar, Vishal Dadlani and Anu Malik to an entertaining Sui dhaaga competition. The trio accepted the challenge and came on stage to try their luck on the sewing machine.

90s Era Antakshari

The legendary singers Kumar Sanu and the melodious Alka Yagnik making a special appearance. Both the veterans shared interesting stories from the 90s and reminisced the hit songs which had people all over grooving to their catchy tunes. All the three judges Anu Malik, Neha Kakkar and Vishal Dadlani engaged in an  Antakshari duel with Kumar and Alka ji. The favourite singing Jodi from the 90s mesmerized everyone with their evergreen songs.

Vada Pav Party

Varun and Neha who are big fan of this Mumbaiya street food couldn’t control themselves and ended up eating many vada pavs. Anushka was seen helping Varun in eating more in the competition with Kunal Pandit’s friends and cheered them on

Tribute to Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik

A special tribute was given to Alka Yagnik and Kumar Sanu by the contestants on the set. The contestants gave a medley performance of the songs from the 90s era which had songs like Tum dil ki dhadkan mein, Jeeta tha jiske liye, Ghunghat ki aad se Neelanjan, Tujhe Yaad Na meri aayi and many more. All the contestants give a tribute to Alka and Kumar. The contestants performed medley, Kumar Sanu gets nostalgic.

Maniesh Paul’s hidden talent

When Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik were guests on the show, the judges insisted our host Maniesh Paul to present one of his favourite song. Maniesh impressed everyone by singing ‘tumse pyaar karte rahenge’. The judges and the contestants gave him a standing ovation and also pressed the buzzer for Mausam Badal Diya. Overwhelmed, our veteran singer- judge Anu Malik gave Rs.100 as Shagun to Maniesh Paul.
