DJ Snake shares 'Maradona Riddim' video with Niniola

MUMBAI: After the success of Magenta Riddim, French DJ/producer DJ Snake has premiered the video for Maradona Riddim, from his recent single with Nigerian Queen of Afro-House, Niniola.

The video stars Leon Akida Burns (aka Kida the Great) - a 16-year-old dancer/choreographer. Directed by Daniel Kaufman (Jay-Z, DJ Khaled), the Maradona Riddim video captures the beautiful summer scene of a group of friends having an impromptu dance party on the beach. And after watching from the sidelines, dancer Kida the Great has the last laugh by performing a breathtaking dance routine on the shimmering ocean surface.

Beautifully shot in lush and bright colors, Maradona Riddim is a continuation of DJ Snake’s efforts to explore and integrate global cultures through his music.

To that end, DJ Snake’s India-inspired hit, Magenta Riddim has been trending ever since it released. It shot to number #one on the U.S. Dance charts earlier this year. In India, the track went on to become the biggest crossover hit of 2018! It topped streaming, radio and TV charts across the country and has now crossed a phenomenal 100 million streams in India, across all platforms here.

On this phenomenal success, DJ Snake had tweeted, “100,000,000 streams on Indian stores on Magenta Riddim now. I am coming….@ Saavn, @Gaana, @Wynk Music, @Hungama_com.”

Riding on the success of his tracks, DJ Snake has a jam-packed summer tour schedule, which he will continue this week. He will also be headlining the Billboard Hot 100 Festival on Saturday in New York.

DJ Snake made his full-length debut with the 2016 album, Encore, which hit number #one position on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart and debuted in the top 10 around the world (including at number #eighth on the Billboard 200). Since scoring his first number #one with Let Me Love You ft. Justin Bieber, DJ Snake has achieved massive success with hits like Get Low, You Know You Like It, Lean On, and Middle. His triumphs also include the 2017 releases, A Different Way ft. Lauv and Broken Summer ft. Max Frost. Earlier this year, DJ Snake landed at number #nine on the first-ever Billboard Dance 100 artist rankings.
