Eats Everything unveils remix of Positiva classic 'U' by Scot Project

Bristolian producer Daniel Pearce, aka Eats Everything, has unveiled his remix of the timeless song ‘U (I Got A Feeling)’ by Scot Project, a release celebrating 25 years of the iconic dance label, Positiva Records. Having sound-tracked an array of nights over the last quarter of a century, 2018 marks Positiva’s anniversary.

Speaking about the same, Eats said, “Too many tracks to mention, so much so, that when I sat down to decide on which track I would be honored to remix I was absolutely blown away by the never ending list of absolute anthems to choose from. I chose Scot Project - U, for several reasons. One, because a lot of the tracks on the list had been either remixed a few times or re-released etc. - and two, because it is one of my favorite records of all time. It’s always been a bit too hard to play in modern times but having the ability to strip it back a bit & (hopefully) give this generation’ ravers a chance to experience what I experienced in 1996 when I first heard this record was an opportunity not to be missed. I hope I’ve done it & the label justice. Long live Positiva!”

He further added, “If you were into house music into the 90’s in the UK, you invariably owned a track on Positiva either on vinyl, cd or cassette - some of the seminal anthems that shaped my mid to late teens.”

The release follows Dan’s successful year, 2017, which saw the UK innovator play dates at ADE, BPM Festival, The Warehouse Project, and a flurry of Ibiza gigs at various venues, including Amnesia’s Elrow, and Carl Cox’s GAME OVER residency at Privilege.

Speaking about the same, Jason Ellis, current A&R director of Positiva / Virgin EMI, said, “The 25th anniversary has given us the opportunity to delve into the catalogue and celebrate some of the bigger successes, but also revisit some of the more underground club anthems of the time.”

Ellis further added, “When Dan chose to remix Scot Project, I was a little surprised – but his amazing remix is the perfect way to launch the campaign.  With thanks to Perfecto / Armada and Frank Zenker / Scot Project himself for making this happen”

Reports state that to celebrate 25 years since its inception, the label will spend the whole of 2018, showcasing their back-catalogue. It will comprise of a series of one-off parties and special releases from both the present day and yesteryear.

Eats remix has already commenced the celebration that will be followed by the label’s upcoming weekend of shows to be held at the Ministry of Sound, an addition to the grand occasion.

Established in 1993, the label sold a staggering 35 million singles in the UK alone and chalked up 14 #1 singles through the past two-and-a-half decades, with 2018 marking a year of celebration. Rolling with a typically infectious bassline, Eats’ latest release exhibits a rumbling bassline kept in check by crisp drum patterns.

Meanwhile, Eat Everything's remixwhich released on 13 April is catching up the beat with the audience, while Positiva remains at the very summit of the multi-billion dollar electronic music industry.
