Bryan Ernest and ONEmpire: Songs about mental health and reviving a band in a new avtar

MUMBAI: Whether writing music and deciding who to play with or hitting the road for adventures, Bryan Ernest trusts his instinct and stays open to emergence. Rarely, if ever, does he travel with a plan. If he does, the plan almost always goes to the wayside in favor of the unexpected adventures that pop up along the way in which so much of life’s beauty is waiting to be discovered and through which so many rich life perspectives are unraveled through people and places. The road teaches Bryan about life’s truths; how to hone and trust his instinct, how to engage with people and allow beautiful moments to emerge and how sometimes the most unexpected and unplanned way is the best one.

Previously performing under the banner of The Other People the band is coming together, starting afresh, the boys are back and this time in an all new avatar ONEmpire which is pronounced as One Empire. After a successful and popular run over a decade, Zarir, Garth, Gavin, Atish and Loy are ready to look to the future and forge a renewed, sophisticated sound supported by a brand-new experience for the audience.

The name ONEmpire came to them with the desire to be the best in town. Having launched themselves in May 2017 the band is looking to soon release an EP under their new avatar who is mentored by Loy Mendonsa.

Described as India’s longest party marathon, Baleno Wicked Weekends which is a collaboration between Maruti Suzuki which is NEXA and Zee live which has put on 36 shows so far and continues to feature some of the most exciting independent music talent from India.
