Laidback Luke debuts on Spinnin' with rowdy KURA collab Mad Man

MUMBAI: Laidback Luke touches down on Spinnin' Records with a new bomb. Mad Man sees him team up with in-demand producer KURA, and it's simply one of the most exciting tracks of the year.

Mad Man mashes up a dizzying array of influences to create a hyperactive, fast-paced journey that keeps you guessing throughout. Hardstyle and dubstep are just some of the flavours that can be detected in this intense track's DNA.

A brutal build-up with on-beat snares and rasping techy bass leads us to the haunting bell melody of the breakdown, which is followed in short succession by a rowdy horn riff. Cue one huge build, a mangled ragga vocal snippet and one seriously pounding drop, with the duo unleashing a raw and nasty synth line over pounding kicks. Just when you think you’ve heard it all, the track switches into a half-time melody with that horn line chopped up and rejigged to fit the new rhythm. It’s the sound of two producers pushing each other to their limits and concocting one of their most insane tracks to date.

Mad Man joins Luke's amazing catalogue of releases from this year, which includes Afrojack collaboration ‘Move To The Sound’, GTA collab The Chase, Fcukin Beats with TWOLOUD, Front 2 The Back with Mike Cervello and To The Beat with Yves V. After spending last year focusing on his incredible, eclectic artist album Focus, 2016 has been all about getting back to making dancefloor bombs.

Portuguese producer KURA is one of the fastest-rising names in the scene, with previous collaborations alongside Hardwell and Sidney Samson and releases on Revealed Recordings, Oxygen/Spinnin' Records, Flashover Recordings, Juicy Music, Protocol Recordings, Armada Trice and Ultra Music amongst others. His warped, hard-edged sounds have made him a favourite with the likes of Axwell andAfrojack and have seen him rise to #42 in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Poll last year.

The next couple of weeks see Luke play Varsovie, Poland (Sept 30), Dublin (Oct 1), San Diego (Oct 7) and Chicago (Oct 8) before a couple of weeks’ break. Expect to hear this one destroy the dancefloor if you’re going to see him! Then coming up in a few weeks is his special double-header 40th birthday celebrations, with his private VIP friends & family party at AIR during ADE (Oct 18) and the big public affair at Marquee in New York (Oct 22).

Laidback Luke & KURA ‘Mad Man’ is released via Spinnin’ Records on 3 October.
