Blackstratblues to headline Mumbai leg of the Road to Converse Rubber Tracks in India Season Two

Mumbai: After kicking off the Regional Rounds in Bangalore and then Delhi, the Road to Converse Rubber Tracks in India is heading to Mumbai in search for the best emerging bands in India. Five city bands will play the Mumbai leg of the Regional Rounds at Todi Social on Thursday, March 3 (gates open at 7pm). The gig will be headlined by blues and rock act Blackstratblues.

Over 350 emerging bands from around the country have applied for the opportunity to win an all-expenses paid trip to Brooklyn, New York to record at the Converse Rubber Tracks studio. This year, we head to five cities - Bangalore, Pune, Delhi, Mumbai and Guwahati - where the five most voted for bands in each city will perform to earn a spot at the season finale at blueFROG, Mumbai. The five finalists from each city will also have the opportunity to record a song at a studio in their city and do a special photo shoot before coming to Mumbai for the finale. A panel of expert judges in each city will select the regional finalists.

Closing the night will be Blackstratblues, the solo project of guitarist Warren Mendonsa. Mendonsa is a part of influential Indian rock act Zero, and under the moniker Blackstratblues has released three albums including 2015's The Universe Has A Strange Sense of Humour. He has also been involved as a sessions musician with several artists including Amit Trivedi and Vishal-Shekhar. Blackstratblues, along with the exciting five finalists, is a lineup you don’t want to miss.
