5 reasons why you should attend Vh1 Supersonic 2015, according to Nikhil Chinapa

MUMBAI: Because there’s no better feeling in the world than being surrounded with your friends, having you toes in the sand, throwing you hands in the air and singing out loud, really loud.

Vh1 Supersonic is a festival of friends. You either come here with them or you return, having made loads of new ones. There’s a special bond that connects people who come to this festival. They have a passion for music that goes beyond the ordinary and this festival is their playground.

Nikhil’s side note: Trust me when I say this, the friends you go to a festival with are the ones that you will know forever. They will be there when your children are born – and you will be there when their children get married. The friends you come here with and the new friends you make will be your friends for life.

2. This is your festival if you believe in the principles of P.L.U.R. – Peace, Love, Unity and Respect. Respecting the music, each other and respecting women. The festival takes special care to ensure that fans have a fun time, without being bothered by elements who are there to create a nuisance. People found misbehaving are dealt with swiftly and firmly – and “I was only joking”, is never taken as an excuse for misbehavior against women. You will get into trouble with our security and you will be ejected from the festival. So remember, bring a four day supply of P.L.U.R.

3. The music.

Awakenings, Arms House and UKF.

The lineup aside, bringing this techno giant to Indian shores has been an achievement of epic proportions. They have curated an incredible Techno lineup, the likes of which Asia’s never seen. The same goes for the bass lineup curated by Arms House and UKF. Both these stages will essentially be a festivals-within-a-festival at Vh1 Supersonic.

That aside, if you are a fan of any form of dance music – this is your festival. From big room and future house, to deep house, bass and techno, Vh1 Supersonic has it all. Disclosure along with Joris Voorn, Don Diablo, Kolsch, Deorro, Ida Engberg, Dirtyphonics, Netsky, Culture Shock and Stephan Bodzin, are all playing their first ever gigs in India – and the festival also features Axwell, Zedd, Nervo, W&W and the boss of Drumcode Recods – Adam Beyer, all making their return to our shores. Those names aside, you will be very pleased to see the support we have extended to our own scene with legends and newcomers alike from the Indian dance music fraternity.

4. The production of our stages.

It’s no secret that we pull out all the stops when it comes to production but besides the visual impact of our stages, what you really need to look out for, is the quality of sound at every stage. You can hear every note of every track and feel every kick of the bass drum in your solar plexus, across the entire dance floor on every stage at Vh1 Supersonic.

5. The vibe.

The #1 reason to come to the vh1 Supersonic is this thing called the vibe. It’s an intangible element to talk about, but for those who have been to Vh1 Supersonic and who treasure their wristbands from our previous two years, you know what I am talking about. The vibe is a combination of your friends, sunsets on Candolim beach, your toes in the sand, the smiles you share, the laughter, the love, the hugs, the memories and most of all, the music that brings us together under that warm Goan sky.

There’s nothing quite like the vibe at Vh1 Superonic.
