Akshay Johar to launch debut album 'Shots Fired'

MUMBAI: Akshay Johar aka MojoJojo is all geared up to launch his debut album ‘Shots Fired’. The album is scheduled to release on 3 October, 2015 on Times Music. The album consists of eight tracks and is a bilingual as it is aimed at a wide base of audiences. The album is replete with collaborations -- including feats by Sound Avtar, Tanya Nambiar of Gravy Train along with Rapper Krishna among others -- that see this Bass Player (of bands such as Barefaced Liar, Gravy Train and The Doppler Effect), bloom as a rhythm heavy- producer.

MojoJojo shares his thoughts about the upcoming album, "I'm absolutely thrilled about my first album launch. It distils the last 15 years of my musical experiences into eight songs. Despite being under the broad umbrella of Global Bass Music, it has influences from funk, pop, jazz and more. I am also super proud about releasing this with one of the largest labels in the country, Times Music. I think it's immensely motivating that a national label is releasing and promoting this kind of a sound that is predominantly a western style of music but has been injected with strong Indian influences as well."

Apart from fans and followers of the scene even senior electronic acts have loved the preview of the album. Senior colleagues for the industry have applauded the album both for the finesse of production as well as the artistic disposition and sound that stands out.
