Mudra withdraws its Mirchi Kaan title, Leo Burnett takes the honour

MUMBAI: For the first time in the history of Kaan Awards, an agency had to give up the honour due to plagiarism allegations. Amidst a lot of controversy, Mudra withdrew their Kaan 2010 campaign entry captioned â€?Subtitles' for HBO. This was in light of a recent allegation that the work was â€?inspired' by another campaign.

Bridge Music Publication launches music textbooks

MUMBAI: In order to encourage musical talent among youth across the country, Bridge Music Publications has published music books in India, which includes original scores of composers, music textbooks for schools, method books for rhythm and ear training by various musicians and authors. The publication has published a series of music textbooks titled 'Bridge to Music'. Rahman adds zing to CWG theme song

Swanand Kirkire wants to turn director

MUMBAI: After winning national award for his song 'Behti hawa sa tha woh' from '3 Idiots', lyricist Swanand Kirkire now plans to try his hands in film direction. "Direction is something I always wanted to do. I have been trying from my end. I am working on a script but I don't know whether people want to see me as a director. But it is something I would love to do," Kirkire told PTI. Kirkire has worked as associate director for films like 'Chameli', 'Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi' and 'Calcutta Mail'.
