Adnan Sami readies for UK tour

MUMBAI: Musician - singer Adnan Sami will be doing a series of concerts in the UK after a gap of three years in a tour organized by Vijay Bhola, Ashok Gadher and Jujar Singh of Safenote Ltd. The composer singer is scheduled to perform in London with his team of musicians at the Wembley Arena on 18 and 19 October, Nottingham Arena on 11 October and at the Clyde Auditorium in Glasgow on 14 October.

Ratan Jain elected president of AMPTPP

MUMBAI: Venus Records' director Ratan Jain has been elected president of the Association of Motion Pictures and Television Programme Producer of India (AMPTPP) in an election held last week. At the meet, Ramesh Taurani and Mukesh Bhatt were elected Vice Presidents while Vashu Bhagnani and Manish Goswami have been elected Treasurers for the year ahead. Gordhan Tanwani and Ashutosh Gowariker have been elected as General Secretaries of AMPTPP.

Kabul to host international music festival

MUMBAI: Afghan capital Kabul will host its first ever four-day International Kabul music festival in the city next week, say reports. It will be the first such festival in the central Asian country. Director of music department of Ministry of Information and culture AbdulEtemadi has been quoted as saying that the four day music eventwould be held in the French Cultural Center, Qala-e-Nuh Burj, Feroz-Kohfoundation and Kabul Istiqlal High School auditorium.

IMI holds IPR workshop for Maharashtra cops

MUMBAI: The Indian Music Industry (IMI) organised a training programme for police officers of Maharashtra to raise awareness about Intellectual Property Rights and the importance of its protection on Tuesday. MUMBAI: MTV International has named Bruce Gillmer as senior VP talent and music. Hewill continue to be based in New York and oversee all international talent and music initiatives across the music broadcaster. The announcement was made by MTV International executive VP music brands Antonio Campo Dall'Orto to whom Gillmer reports. Prior to his appointment, Gillmer served as MTV US senior VP Music/Music programming.
