RJ Nitin wins 'Best Infotaining RJ of the Year'

MUMBAI: At the recently concluded Media Excellence Awards 2010 at Ficci's Golden Jubilee Auditorium in New Delhi, Red FM's RJ Nitin won the 'Best Infotaining RJ of the Year'. Jonathan Nitin Brady, better known as RJ Nitin hosts the Morning No.1 show on Red FM, and won the title for excellence in infotainment on radio. The RJ has earlier won several awards including RAPA for �Best Male Jockey'.

Sony blocks Beyonce videos on YouTube

MUMBAI: Pop singer Beyonce Knowles fans in U.S can no longer watch her songs on YouTube web page as her videos have been blocked by Sony Music Entertainment on �copyright grounds'. The action comes on the heels of a copyright infringement issue involving Beyonce's label. Sony desires to earn major sum from the online video biz which explains the reason for the action. The videos were listed on Beyonce's official channel.

FM owners float Radio Investors Forum

MUMBAI: With the motive of engaging the ministry of information and broadcasting on the concerns ailing the private FM radio industry, owners of media houses have stepped in to form a Radio Investors Forum. The radio investors forum is represented by 'owners' of radio businesses rather than 'operational heads'. The Association of Radio Operators of India (AROI) represents  the operational heads of FM stations, and has been negotiating with the ministry in framing a constructive Phase III policy for the radio industry in the country.

Slash to headline for MTV Classic's launch

MUMBAI: According to news reports, Saul Hudson aka Slash, guitarist of one of the worlds popular rock act's Guns n' Roses is scheduled to perform at the launch of MTV Classic on 28 April 2010 at Melbourne's Palace Theatre. Slash will also be releasing his self-titled album in Australia on April 2 that features artistes like Fergie, Ian Astbury, Ozzy Osbourne, Kid Rock and Australian artiste Andrew Stockdale to name a few.

Music stars line up for Fifa 2010 WC

MUMBAI: Soccer's governing body Fifa and Control Room, a producer of global music events, have announced the first performing artists for the inaugural Fifa World Cup Kick-Off Celebration Concert on 10 June. Alicia Keys, Amadou and Mariam, Ang?©lique Kidjo, Black Eyed Peas, BLK JKS, John Legend, Juanes, Shakira, The Parlotones, Tinariwen, Vieux Farka Tour?© and Vusi Mahlasela will take to the stage at Orlando Stadium in Soweto/Johannesburg on the eve of the opening match of the first Fifa World Cup on African soil. AT&T- PV to launch mobile music app

MUMBAI: US telco AT&T has joined hands with San Deigo based mobile software provider PacketVideo (PV) to launch a mobile app that brings radio, music downloading, song tagging, lyric searches and music streaming on an integrated platform. The mobile music application will offer its customers a more cohesive way to play, discover and shop for music using their mobile phone.
