GoM finalizes e-auction model for FM Phase III; license period likely to be extended to 15 yrs

NEW DELHI: Even as the auction for Phase II of FM Radio had yielded huge dividends to the national exchequer, Phase III is also expected to have greater transparency with the government having decided on an e-auction format of the kind followed in the 3G auctions last year. The Group of Ministers on FM radio Phase-III met on Wednesday and finalized and approved the e-auction model. The GoM is also understood to have extended the license period for the radio stations to 15 years from the existing 10 years.

Nokia tops The Brand Trust Report of India's Most Trusted Brands

Fever FM Q3 operating profit at Rs 30 mn

MUMBAI: Fever FM, the demerged radio subsidiary of HT Media which operates FM stations in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata, has posted a standalone operating profit of Rs 30.3 million for the quarter ended 31 December. In the year ago period, the company had posted an operating loss of Rs 13.3 million. Fever FM has posted revenue of Rs 179.6 million, up 76.95 per cent, as compared to Rs 101.5 million a year ago. HT Media has employed a capital of Rs 781.6 million in its radio business, according to data provided till 31 December.
