CIT Ministry studying roll back of spectrum fee for Community Radio

NEW DELHI: The Communication and Information Technology has received the report of a high-level committee set up to roll back the revised spectrum charges for community radio stations, Parliament was informed on 4 December. Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari said the CIT Ministry was presently studying the report and a decision was ‘under process.’ The committee had been set up by the WPC Wing of the CIT Ministry following representations from various organizations including community radio stations to the I&B Ministry.

Apple launches iTunes store in India

MUMBAI: Apple has announced the launch of the iTunes Store in India,Russia, Turkey, South Africa and 52 additional countries. This will allow users to buy local and international music and also movies from the store. In India, the new Apple iTunes Store offers individual songs priced at between Rs 7-15 and whole albums from Rs 70. Apple has priced latest Bollywood albums, like Dabangg 2, at Rs 96.
