Vishal Dadlani and Skrat speak on Farhan Akhtar's X-Men themed track 'Mutant Macha'

MUMBAI: For the television premiere of the hit film 'X-Men: Days of the Future Past', movie channel STAR Movies teamed up with music agency Farout Media to create a promotional music video. The collaborative video features famed Bollywood musician Vishal Dadlani, Filmfare Award nominated singer Farhan Akhtar and alt-rock band Skrat.

On the collaboration for the promotional video, Dadlani told Radioandmusic.com, "Farout Media's Anurag Rao structured the deal with STAR and got Farhan and Skrat involved. And, Farhan is a very dear friend of mine and I love Skrat. Once, I got the call to be part of something with this ensemble, and which also has X-Men, I was all in." When asked which mutant superhero he liked, after much contemplation, Dadlani cited Magneto, the antagonistic superhero in the series with the ability to manipulate electromagnetic fields.

Dadlani had previously stated, "The best thing about music is that it speaks a universal language and as long as you feel the emotion, feel the essence - you will get the message no matter what the genre. We are glad to have come together to create this piece for STAR Movies and I hope everyone has a blast listening to it."

When asked which of the group members is more like the X-Men, Dadlani named Skrat lead vocalist Sriram T.T. Sriram, in turn, said he was honoured by the comparison Dadlani made. He also said that it was interesting, working with Akhtar and Dadlani. "Farout Media told us that Farhan was writing a song for the X-Men premiere and that Vishal would also be a part of it, we immediately jumped at the opportunity," said Sriram.

On the possibility of more such collaborative opportunities, Dadlani said that he would love to be a part of them, saying, "If it is fun, I will do it."

The music video is available on YouTube and for free download through Farout Media's official website.

'X-Men: Days of the Future Past' premieres on STAR Movies on Sunday, 19 April.
