MUMBAI: He dons the hat of a producer, screenplay writer, director, singer and a composer and is a master of each of these crafts. He next plans to release a book of his poems later in 2015, he revealed to Radioandmusic.com.

Bharadwaj had originally come to Mumbai to pursue his musical dreams as a composer. He came into the limelight with his composition for the film 'Maachis’ in 1996, and since then there has been no looking back.

"I came to Mumbai to become a composer. Production, direction and screenplay happened by chance. And until now I have not found anyone who can do these things better than me. But my soul lies in composing songs," he said Bhardwaj. The multitasker has not yet tried his hand as a lyricist because he feels that there are better people like Gulzar to do the job. "I do keep writing poetry. Later this year I intend to release a book of my collection of poems, which I have written over the years," Bhardwaj explained.

His composing process is simple as he generally just follows the script, and at times waits for divine intervention. Bhardwaj revealed that once the composition and lyrics for a song are in place, the track itself guides him to select the singers. The 49 year old will soon be composing music for 'Talwaar’, which will be directed by Meghna Gulzar.

The 'Jhelum’ singer does not wish to comment on the crass lyrics that have been used quite often these days. "Each of them has their way and means of achieving success. Who am I to comment on what others should do? As long as my thoughts have been reflected clearly through my work, I am happy with it," he explained.

Apart from film, Bharwaj has collaborated with Gulzar for TV serials such as 'The Jungle Book’, 'Alice in Wonderland’ and 'Gubbare'.
