Sukriti Kakar debuts in Bollywood with 'Pehli Baar' from 'Dil Dhadakne Do'

MUMBAI: Sukriti Kakar, the youngest Kakar woke up to the best news ever as the video of her debut song 'Pehli Baar’ from 'Dil Dhadakne Do’ was released. The song was not only trending on Twitter, but she was also flooded with praises for the track. Crooned by Sukriti Kakar and Siddharth Mahadevan, the track features Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh, with music composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy.

Kakar had initially gone to the Shankar Ehsaan Loy studio to record a jingle, but when Shankar Mahadevan heard her voice, he asked if she would like to record a scratch. "As soon as he asked me to record a scratch, I agreed immediately. This happened a year ago. I was only told that the song features Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh.  Since it is a song with a punk and rock touch, I was asked to be easy going and just sing my heart out," said Kakar. She is elated not only with the response the track has garnered, but also about the fact that her debut project has been with Shankar Ehsaan Loy.

She also admitted her older sister Akriti Kakar, who sang the hit track- 'Saturday Saturday’, has had an immense influence on both younger sisters, Prakriti and Sukriti. "For Akriti didi whatever we do, it has always been like, been there done that. She is our biggest fan and critic. There are times when we sit and jam, and she will give her piece of advice on how to approach people and everything about the industry," revealed Kakar. The three have also performed as a trio at live events, where Kakar says they learn a lot from Akriti.

Kakar, who is a fan of pop music, also says she listens to a lot of Bollywood music. When asked who in Bollywood she would like to collaborate with, she said AR Rahman, Amit Trivedi and Vishal Shekhar.
