Shekhar Ravjiani: I am really happy that Shah Rukh Khan pushed the song 'Saavli'

MUMBAI: It has been a couple of years since Shekhar Ravjiani, released his second independent Marathi single ‘Saavli’, which was sung by Ravjiani and Sunidhi Chauhan. The song, which talks about first love, got amazing responses at the time of its release. And now it has even impressed Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan. The ‘Veer- Zaara’ actor has recited a beautiful poetry written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, praising the single.

“Shah Rukh Khan, Vishal (Dadlani) and I have worked together for five films now, and the kind of comfort that we share is of another level,” said Ravjiani. When Khan was in the studio, Ravjiani played the song to him and he loved the track so much that he was ready to contribute to the song in any way possible. “I wanted him to come on camera and recite a few lines, written by Amitabh. People have loved the single beyond my expectations, and I am really happy that Shah Rukh Khan pushed ‘Saavli’,” he further added.

Ravjiani also revealed that he will be releasing his next single in the next two or three months. When probed if his next single had something to do with his current Twitter profile picture, the ‘Tu Meri’ singer chuckled, “You will have to wait for the announcement.”

Ravjiani’s first release was the Marathi single ‘Saazni’ in 2012, after which he released ‘Saavli’ the following year. In the same year he released another single ‘Butterfly’, and in 2014, he released the track ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ as a tribute to his grandmother, who passed away.
