Shankar Tucker to release brand new collaborative album soon

MUMBAI: American clarinetist and musician Shankar Tucker has revealed that he will soon release a big collaborative album. Speaking on his upcoming album Tucker said, “In the last one and half year, I have been working really hard on a new album. It will have collaborations with some amazing singers from all over India.”

The collaborative album features artists like freestyle band- Off The Record’s lead vocalist- Shaktishree Gopalan, and Vijay Prakash from Mumbai, who has sung in Hindi films like ‘Yuvvraj’, ‘Swades’ and ‘Raavan’. Tucker confirmed that none of the songs from the album have been released yet.

Talking about what the essence of the album is Tucker mentioned, “Though we have picked singers from different musical backgrounds, the spirit of the album lies more in picking different creative people from different places. It is not about where they come from but what happens when we all get together.”

Apart from his music, Tucker also does considerable amount of work on his videos and managing to make sure everything happens. “Music is just quarter of the all the work I do,” confirmed Tucker.

The musician, who became popular for his online music series ‘ShrutiBox’ revealed that while in India, watching American comedy shows makes him feel at home. He added that he is also fond of Indian music based shows like ‘Coke Studio’ and ‘The Dewarists’.

Tucker will soon be seen performing at the YouTube Fan Fest this year with Maati Baani, and is looking forward to seeing YouTube artists- Kurt Hugo Schneider and Sam Tsui.
