MUMBAI: Music and Weed are ways to defeat the Islamic State, the jihadist group, said Jamaican-American reggae singer Shaggy. He strongly condemned the ISIS, saying that if they can cut a man’s head off, then they are sick.

The ‘Angel’ singer made the revelation during a recent interview with the Miami New Times, to promote his latest single ‘Go F*@k Yourself’. “ISIS can go f*@k themselves,” said the fusion singer. He also stressed that it is crazy what the jihadist group is doing, terming it “horrible”. “I do not get that much hate. I just do not get that level of evil,” he said. The single ‘Go F*@k Yourself’ is not targeting the group.

He added, “I get somebody fighting for their cause. And I get that people struggle; I get that they suffer. But how does that justify killing your brother? Taking their heads off and filming it, that’s a different level of evil right there.”

According to him there are ways to deal with the situation; one such way is listening to reggae music which can get someone pregnant or high. The ‘It Wasn’t Me’ singer added that high people do not intend to kill but want to love. He also said, “They need to bag some Jamaican weed and distribute it amongst ISIS. I guarantee there would not be any more wars out there.” He also suggested that ISIS listen to not just his music but Bob Marley as well, which will bring peace. “Some of these world leaders need to be stoners though, really,” said the 46 year old singer.

Shaggy also served in the US marines in Iraq during the first Gulf war. His track ‘Boombastic’ was inspired after he perfected his signature singing voice in the Marine Corps.
