This is the second time Dixit has worked with Prasad. The two previously worked together on the track ‘Chal Chalo Chalo’ for the film ‘Son of Satyamurthy’. Describing his experience working with Prasad, Dixit said, “Devi is a really cool guy; a chilled out musician. While he is focused on work, he is also extremely comfortable to work with.” Dixit also added that he started recording the track for ‘Srimanthudu’ immediately after his band, The Raghu Dixit Project, performed at Glastonbury last week.

Working with Prasad on these two projects marks the first time Dixit has recorded in Telugu. Before this, the ‘Hey Bhagwan’ singer composed in Kannada (his native tongue) for the films ‘Psycho’ (2008), ‘Kote’ (2011) and ‘Just Maath Maathalli’ (2010). And prior to ‘Bewakoofiyaan’, Dixit composed music for the 2011 film, ‘Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge’, which marked his Bollywood debut.

‘Srimanthudu’ presents the Telugu film industry’s popular names, Mahesh Babu and Shruti Haasan, daughter of veteran actor Kamal Haasan. The film marks UTV Motion Pictures’ maiden Telugu production, and is expected to hit theatres on 7 August.
