Raftaar talks about his stint with 'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa'

MUMBAI: It seems like Raftaar is out to prove that he is as good at dancing as he is at rapping. The ‘Pappi Song’ rapper will soon be seen participating in the dance reality show, ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’. He previously participated in another dance reality show- 'Dance India Dance'.

“I have always been fond of dancing and as a child I would always dance to the tunes of various artistes,” said Raftaar. The ‘Whistle Baja’ singer said that he has participated in the reality show so that he could learn new forms of dance, and to gain more experience.

Raftaar revealed that it was dance that inspired him to make the kind of music he does. “Since I have always loved dancing I make music that not only makes me happy, but that can also make others dance. That is the big difference now. Initially, I used to dance to someone else’s tunes,” he added.

He considers Salsa the most difficult from of dancing, and heavily depends on his trainer Sneha to master that particular form. However, he is confident of his hip hop dancing abilities. When asked if his participation in the dance reality show will affect his music composition, he said, “Composing music will never ever take a back seat. To compose music or write lyrics, you do not have to sit in a studio now. All you need is a computer and headphones. I can write lyrics even during rehearsals.”

According to him participating in ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’ would be an unforgettable experience.
