Queen and Adam Lambert to ring in New Year with exclusive BBC One concert

MUMBAI: Queen and Adam Lambert have confirmed that they will perform an exclusive New Year's Eve concert in London, close to the city's iconic landmark- The Big Ben. The concert is called ‘Queen & Adam Lambert Rock Big Ben Live', and will have a live broadcast on BBC One.

Reports say that the concert will start before the clock strikes twelve on New Year, and will continue after the fireworks display that is usually held along the Thames River, which will also be broadcast on the channel. The exclusive performance will see former American Idol contestant- Lambert perform some of Queen's biggest hits alongside two of the band's original members- Brian May and Roger Taylor.

Lambert, who has taken the legendary Freddie Mercury's place as Queen's frontman commented on the concert saying, "Words can't describe how excited I am, we are going to kick off 2015 in style!"

Meanwhile, Taylor, the band's drummer said, "I never imagined we would be around to usher in the year of 2015, what a thrill! We promise you a great night."

Queen and Lambert have been touring the world since first performing together in 2012.

The coverage of the event will be produced by BBC In House Entertainment and Events, and will be presented by BBC One presenters- Gemma Cairney and Greg James. Speaking of the exclusive concert, BBC One Controller Charlotte Moore said, "BBC One will be kicking off 2015 in spectacular style with an exclusive live concert from rock legends Queen and Adam Lambert, I hope you join us for a night to remember."
