AIR FM Gold frequency shifting decision deferred, says Govt

New Delhi: Even as Prasar Bharati had denied any move to change the frequency of the popular All India Radio FM Gold from 106.4 to 100.1 MHz, Parliament was informed on Monday that the decision had merely been deferred.

AIR, DD staff defers proposed strike

NEW DELHI: The proposed 72-hour mass casual leave by the National Federation of Akashvani and Doordarshan Employees (NFADE) has been deferred following an agreement with Prsasr Bharati. The pubcaster has set up a committee headed by V Shivakumar, Member (Personnel) in the Prasar Board, which will have representatives of the Federation to examine the various grievances raised by them.

Radio Indigo brings 'Indigo Jingle Jam' contest to Bangalore schools

Bangalore: Radio Indigo 91.9 FM Bangalore plans to bring the tradition and festivities of Christmas to all the leading schools in Bangalore. The Indigo Jingle Jam will invite school students in Bangalore to compose a tune with lyrics about Christmas and New Year on Radio Indigo. Winners of the contest will be decided by listeners through an on-air and online poll. The last date to send in the Jingles would be December 15.

And today, we featured Salim Suleiman, two chilled-out dudes of our industry, who come from a background of musical instruments, as their father used to manufacture instruments and supply them to our illustrious artists in the film and music industry. The brothers, who unfortunately lost their father when they were in their early 20's, are musicians in the true sense. They perform in so many live gigs all over Mumbai without any pomp and show, as they believe music itself is bigger than the creators.

Radio Mirchi moves Supreme Court over royalty rate dispute

New Delhi: Entertainment Network (India) Limited (ENIL), the owner of Radio Mirchi FM, has approached the Supreme Court in a dispute with various music copyright owners, over rate of royalty paid for broadcasting music. ENIL has sought transfer of all cases pending in different High Courts on the same issue so that the Supreme Court may hear the case.
