Pankaj Padghan composes three songs for Nadiadwalas' first Marathi film - 'Murder Mestri'

MUMBAI: After composing for the upcoming Swwapnil Joshi-starrer 'Welcome Zindagi', Marathi music composer is all set to please Marathi music listeners once more with his new film – 'Murder Mestri'. Padghan has composed three songs for the film, including one that features vocals by legendary singer Asha Bhosle. The film also marks Nadiadwala Gennext's debut venture into film production, which happens to be a Marathi feature.

Padghan describes the music of the film as acoustic, yet ethnic. “The music of 'Murder Mestri' is very different to what I have composed before. I cannot categorise it with one particular genre of music. It showcases traditional Marathi music with contemporary arrangement,” said Padghan.

He said that the film has three songs called 'Jeevala Lagla Ghor', 'Sanvshya Qila Lai Lai Danger Aahey' and 'Ali Mili'. The first two have been sung by Adarsh Shinde with lyrics by Guru Thakur, while the third track is written by Mandar Cholkar and features Asha Bhosle as the prime vocalist. “The song sung by Ashaji is a beautiful track we composed as a montage depicting the entire film,” stated Padghan. He further added that the soundtrack of the film can be expected to be released in the next fortnight.

The film features an all-star ensemble of award winning and well-known Marathi actors such as Dilip Prabhavalkar, Sanjay Khapre, Hrishikesh Joshi, Kamlakar Satpute, Vandana Gupte, Kranti Redkar and Manasi Naik among others. National Award winning actor Prabhavalkar, who is a household name in the Marathi industry spoke about his expectations of the film. He said, “After a long time I have got an opportunity to work on a strong script with comedy as well as suspense. I am sure that the film will entertain its fans throughout.”

'Murder Mestri' is produced by Abrar Nadiadwala's Nadiadwala Gennext Productions and Vaibhav Bhor's VTB enterprises, and is directed by Rahul Jadhav. The film is expected to hit theatres on 10 July.
