Palak Muchhal to perform at Royal Albert Hall as part of BBC Proms

MUMBAI: 'Meri Aashiqui' singer Palak Muchhal is in the happiest phase of her life. The songstress revealed that she is scheduled to perform at the Royal Albert Hall, London on 22 July this year as part of the BBC Proms 2015.

"I have a very good rapport with BBC London as they play all my songs and most of them turn out to be the song of the week. One of the producers got in touch with me and offered me the chance to perform at the Royal Albert Hall. I had performed there when I was six years old, but at that time, it was with a team," revealed Muchhal.

Initially she thought it would be like a regular concert, but when BBC told her it that it would be with an orchestra of over 50 musicians, she was thrilled. "It is quite exciting to perform with the Philharmonic Orchestra. It is one of the best in the UK and I am really looking forward to it. I shall be singing all my songs including 'Jumme Ki Raat'. Simply imagining these songs with an orchestra gives me goose bumps," she exalted.

The songstress is expected to be in London by 20th July, after which rehearsals are scheduled to happen on 21 July. Bollywood singer Benny Dayal and DJ/producer Naughty Boy will also perform on the same day as Muchhal, but with a different set. Being an ardent fan of Harry Potter, she plans to visit the Harry Potter Studio after the concert.

When asked if she intends to launch a single any time soon, Muchhal said, "I am actually waiting for the right time to come up with a single. My current focus is on Bollywood projects as I wish to leave my mark there. Also if I do come up with one, it will be composed by my brother Palash Muchhal."

Apart from the concert and Bollywood projects, she is also excited about her family holiday in Dubai, which she is leaving for soon. "I am happy about the holiday, but even in Dubai I shall be working as I have lined up a store opening and a few radio interviews. But I am happy that all of us a going on a vacation together after a year," she concluded.
