Palak Muchhal: Jeet da's compositions have always been sweet

MUMBAI: Her voice has been an ear pleaser, regardless of the genre she croons. From her peppy number 'Ice Cream Khaonge' in the film 'Xpose' to the romantic track 'Meri Aashiqui' from the film 'Aashiqui 2', Palak Muchhal has always impressed with her tone quality and has done justice to all the songs.  But the birthday girl seems to be in love with her latest track 'Tere Khushboo' from the film 'Mr. X'.  The music of the track is composed by 'Suno Sangemarmar' composer Jeet Gannguli, and the lyrics are penned by Rashmi Singh.

"When Jeetda approached me to sing the song, the first thing he told me was to maintain the emotions of the song. That was the only brief for the song. I rehearsed it on the first day of recording and then on the second day, we recorded the song in the presence of lyricist Rashmiji, who I really admire," revealed the 'Dhoom Dham' singer.

Singing this song was a totally a different experience for the 23 year old as she usually sings romantic and "commercial" tracks. "Every singer, in his or her life, wishes to sing a song in which he/she can improvise their emotions and is given freedom to express the same behind the mic. I had that opportunity with this track. Jeetda's compositions have always been really sweet, and you can actually hum them even without the lyrics. It is not a sad track as it talks about getting over with what has happened," she further explained. It took less than an hour to record the track.

The songstress, who turns 23 today, has no birthday plans as such. "I just visited the temple in the morning and a few friends might come over," she said. Looking back at her journey so far she sounded extremely satisfied and does not have anything to complain about. "Never in my dreams did I think that I would sing the song 'Lapaata' from 'Ek Tha Tiger' and since then I have never looked back. "I have always got more than what I have expected so there are no regrets as such," she explained.

Her upcoming projects include 'Traffic 2' and she recently recorded a song for MM Kreem and a few others, which she cannot talk about.
