Kurt Cobain's solo album to be out in November

MUMBAI: Kurt Cobain's solo album will arrive two decades after the Nirvana frontman took his own life.

The record is serving as a soundtrack to ‘Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck’ and it is scheduled to come out on 6 November, the same day the documentary will be released on DVD/Blu-ray.

The album was masterminded by the biopic's director, Brett Morgen.

He said the upcoming project would include all of the music featured in the film, plus a dozen additional tracks, audio montages, and even a comedy sketch.

"(It's) curated to feel as though one were sitting in Kurt's living room watching him create over the course of an afternoon," Morgen told Billboard.

He also added that the songs would range "from thrash to ragtime and everything in between".

"These are all just Kurt by himself with the guitar. These are not multi-track, finished songs or work-ups, but they're extraordinary, and I think they provide a tremendous insight into his (creative) process. I think they further our understanding of Kurt, both as a musician and as a man," Morgen added.

Morgen also expressed his surprise that Cobain's music has not be released even after 20 years since he died.
