Divya Kumar talks about his song in the movie 'Badlapur'

MUMBAI: Having crooned numbers like 'G Phad Ke' and 'Maston Ka Jhund', Divya Kumar has rendered his vocals for 'Jee Karda' from the film 'Badlapur'. The latest track from 'Badlapur' is a slow emotional number, unlike previous tracks that he has sung. The music of the film is composed by Sachin Jigar, and the lyrics for the song have been penned by Priya Panchal.

"The brief given to me was very simple. Since it is an emotional song, I need to have pain in my voice, the urge to meet the person I love," explained Kumar. When asked to pick his favourite genre for singing, he just said that he loves everything he sings. "Honestly for me it is like I have worked with various people and I love doing that. For me doing what I love matters the most and I have loved the songs that I have been singing," he further stated.

Kumar commenced his musical journey at the age of eight and always wanted to become a musician and not just a singer. "Since my father was a musician, I always had his influence on me. I played a lot of drums and percussion even. It was my mom who spotted my singing talent and then I auditioned for 'Kalyanji Anandji' and things proceeded," said Kumar while talking about his journey.

When asked about his upcoming projects, the 'Shubharambh' singer remained tightlipped but also added that his songs in a few upcoming movies will be every different from the ones he has sung before.
