Composer Pritam back to Bollywood after a year-long break

MUMBAI: Pritam, one of Bollywood's most popular composers, was seen at an event after a rather long time. He was spotted on the eve of Radio Mirchi's jury meet held in Mumbai. During media interactions he revealed that since mid 2014, he has not signed a film.

"It was in 2013 while I was composing for 'Dhoom 3' I realised that I was getting bored. Also I did not enjoy the work I was doing. Generally that does not happen with me since I am a complete workaholic. But since boredom seeped in, I thought I might as well take a break. Thus I did not compose for any film from mid 2014 to mid 2015. After taking a break for a year, I am now bored with my holidays. So here I am, back to work and have just started composing for a couple of films," Pritam explained.

For him it is pleasure to be on such a stature where he can refuse or select work. "I am lucky, in a way, as I can choose what I wish to do because that is one thing that you really want," added the 'Cocktail' composer.

When asked about the process of judging he said, "The nominations are not completely based on the commercial success of the song, but more towards music and lyrics."

Pritam last composed music for the Akshay Kumar and Sonkshi Sinha starrer 'Holiday'. His much awaited projects include movies like 'Phantom', 'Jagga Jasoos', 'Badtameez Dil' and many more.
