Bruno Mars, Adam Levine, Cyndi Lauper to get stars on Hollywood Walk of Fame

MUMBAI: The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has announced a selection of famous names who will get their stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year. Amongst the music stars to be included in the class of 2016 are pop singers Bruno Mars, Cyndi Lauper, Maroon 5 frontman- Adam Levine and rapper LL Cool J.

Radio presenter for the National Basketball Association's Los Angeles Clippers- Ralph Lawler, will also be honoured with a star on the Walk of Fame. Other names in the Recording category include American Gospel music singer and songwriter- Shirley Caesar, Israeli-American conductor, violinist and pedagogue- Itzhak Perlman and Joseph B. "Joe" Smith. A posthumous honour will also be presented to 'Mama' Cass Elliot, from the 1960s folk rock vocal group- The Mamas & the Papas.

The selection committee will also be honouring a number of big names from film and television with stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. These include director Quentin Tarantino, and actors Ashley Judd, Bradley Cooper, Steve Carell, Kurt Russell, Michael Keaton, David Duchovny, Tracy Morgan, Rob Lowe, Barbara Bain and Debra Messing, amongst others.

Entertainers from five categories (motion picture, television, recording, radio and live theatre) are recognised for the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Recipients are selected by a committee depending on applications received from celebrity representatives and fans. Star ceremonies for the class of 2016 are yet to be scheduled.
