MUMBAI: The world of Indian classical music is about to get more magical as two of the most renowned artists in the world of classical music, Pandit Satish Vyas and Pravin Godkhindi, come together for a duet performance of Santoor and Flute. They will be accompanied by one of the most talented Tabla player Aditya Kalyanpur in the 'Morning Ragas' concert series scheduled to be held on Sunday, February 12th, 2023 at 10.00 a.m. at the Chowdiah Memorial Hall in Malleshwaram, Bengaluru.

Santoor maestro Satish Vyas was initiated into Indian classical music by his father, Pandit C. R. Vyas, who imparted musical values to him. Satish's fascination with the santoor led him to become a senior disciple of the late santoor maestro Pt. Shivkumar Sharma, where he honed his musical skills and developed his unique style. He is highly respected in the music world and sought after due to his exceptional performing skills and contribution to Indian classical music in many ways. He has received numerous awards, including the coveted Padmashree award, Kumar Gandharva Rashtriya Sanman, Tansen Sanman, and the Guru Madan Lal Koser - Guru Shobha Koser award. He has performed at prestigious festivals such as the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland and the Mostra Mozart Festival organized by the European Mozart Foundation.
Flautist Pravin Godkhindi, known for his technical virtuosity and aesthetic appeal, has had the privilege of learning music under the tutelage of his father, Pandit Venkatesh Godkhindi, and Carnatic mridangist Anoor Anantha Krishna Sharma. He incorporates Carnatic rhythm into his playing and became the first to perform Indian classical music on the 8-foot-long contrabass flute.
The concert is part of the Morning Ragas series, which was launched in September 2022 and is held every two months. The series aims to provide a vast variety of repertoire and focus on morning compositions, creating a magical experience through pure classical music.
