I bow down to my Guru, the great legend, Swara Samrat Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, and sincerely take forward the huge responsibility of keeping his musical philosophy alive among the current generation. I can never repay the debt of the immeasurable taalim and musical thinking ability I have been fortunate to have learned from him. I am extremely looking forward to paying my homage to my master in his centennial celebration. Say’s Pt. Tejendra Narayan Majumdar (Sangeet Natak Akademi Award-Winning Sarod Maestro).

Ustad Ali Akbar Khan was a legendary Sarod maestro and one of the greatest musicians of all time. His divine music continues to inspire generations and he was a Himalayan figure in the music scene not just in India but the entire world. Pt. Nayan Ghosh, a renowned Tabla maestro, had a close bonding with him through his father and uncle who were also colleagues and contemporaries of Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. The association between their two families goes back to Ustad Ali Akbar Khan's father Ustad Allauddin Khan. Pt. Nayan Ghosh feels grateful for the opportunity to spend time with the great maestro and is honored to be performing a Tabla solo in tribute to him as part of the Swara Samrat Festival. He expresses his congratulations to the Shreeranjani Foundation and his appreciation for Pt. Tejendra Narayan Majumdar and his team for their devotion and dedication in presenting the festival with numerous artists performing. He bows down to Ustad Ali Akbar Khan and pays his respects to his great soul.
