MUMBAI: ShortsTV, the world's first and only 24/7 linear TV channel dedicated to short films, has announced its collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), and International Film Festival of India (IFFI) to conduct an on-ground filmmaking challenge with the ‘75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow’.

The ‘75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow’ is an initiative of MIB to identify, encourage and nurture young creative talents from across various aspects of filmmaking. In its 2nd year, 75 Creative minds have been selected across various disciplines of Direction, Acting, Cinematography, etc by an esteemed Jury of industry veterans.

To commemorate the 53 Glorious Years of IFFI, ShortsTV is organizing a 53 HR Filmmaking Challenge during the festival in Goa. The 75 Creative Minds will be grouped in 5 teams of 15 members each and will compete to create a Short Film in 53 Hrs. The theme for the competition is ‘India at 100’ and duration of the film will be 6-10 mins. All the 5 Short Films will be screened to an esteemed Grand Jury during the festival and one winner will be selected.

ShortsTV will be mentoring all the 75 Creative Minds and guiding them for hands-on development of various film crafts to create a film. They will get an opportunity to showcase their work at the prestigious IFFI & reach a wide audience via the ShortsTV Network.

Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Carter Pilcher, Chief Executive of Shorts TV, said “We are thrilled to join the Govt of India in recognising this years 75 Creative Minds.  This is a brilliant initiative to launch India’s new filmmaking talent.  India has already taken over some of the most influential positions in global tech companies with spectacular results and now we look forward to doing the same for Hollywood.”

Sh Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, said “75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow has been conceived as a unique platform of opportunities for youth, artists and creatives, especially from far-flung areas, to learn, engage and network with the who’s who of the Indian Film Industry at the International Film Festival of India in Goa.
