MUMBAI: Singer- Songwriter Rukhsar Bandhukia whose known for her songs like Vaari Jawan, Mere Rabba has recently marked a big step into the Bollywood space as a playback singer. Her collaboration for song Taali Taali from the movie Double XL alongside Sohail Sen and Silambarasan TR is receiving love from the audience.

How was your experience working on the song?

My experience was the Best. Earlier it started off as a scratch voice and when I heard the song I knew it was going to be a great song. I had to sing the Tamil rap portion in the song as the writer wrote it. Once I was done I heard the entire song at a stretch after recording it. I was super proud of myself when I sang the Tamil rap portion. As it not being my primary language it was tough but a great challenge that I took up and succeeded. I was uncertain of my voice being there in the Final cut till the end but then Sohail sir made it happen for me. All thanks to him and His assistant Pratik.

Memories associated with the song.

I remember when I met Sohail sir and he heard my voice in person, he had told me that he'd give me a song. He kept his promise and I am truly happy to be associated with him. Truly grateful for the opportunity he gave me when he asked me to sing this song. It's one of my favourite songs. Each time I received a call to either come record for the second time or additions to the song it was all a process I enjoyed a lot. Without Sohail Sir believing in me , this wouldn't have happened.

Please tell us about your upcoming projects.

I have been working on my Independent songs for quite sometime now. And more than releasing a Song it's more about Promoting the song which being an Independent Artist get's tricky most of the time. But I'm managing to do that as well as make more songs in the near future. Currently I have lots of unreleased Independent songs which  I will be releasing in the coming few monthly thanks to Wynk Music's Support.

I will be also releasing Language Versions of my songs for eg there's a Tamil Version coming of my song Let's Go Wild soon with OJ a Srilankan Rapper.
I have also recorded songs for Yuvan Shankar Raja sir who is an amazing and Positive Person to be around. It was my honour to sing 2 songs for him.
There is an upcoming song which i cannot disclose. Hopefully it should be a good one too.

Rukhsar Bandhukia co-starred with Rani Mukherjee in the Yashraj Films production "Mardaani." She made her acting debut before deciding to pursue music with a fierce enthusiasm. This immaculate multilingual performer studied singing with Shahab Hussain Khan from the Rampur Sahaswaan Gharana dynasty of Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan. In addition to singing a variety of cover songs, Rukhsar also sang an original song that brought her 2 million viewers.
