Facebook integrates internet radio service app

MUMBAI: Facebook will offer its member a chance to listen and chat about music through a new app provided by �Myxer Social Radio' an online music streaming service. The app will be available for free download later this year, wherein users can log in and sync with their friends by creating virtual room. The music streaming service allows anyone in the room with an opportunity to listen, chat about the song and record a 'Song Story,' (30-second video explaining what the song means to them).

AXN kicks off X Factor on 22 September

MUMBAI: AXN will kick off the music-based reality show X Factor on 22 September. The show will air Thursday - Friday at 7 pm to catch the youth audiences. The repeat at 10 pm the same day is to draw in the channel's regular viewers. Said AXN India senior VP Rohit Bhandari, "The aim is to broaden the appeal of the channel and attract an older audience as well."

Mohit Chauhan, Ranbir Kapoor pay musical tribute at Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah

The team joined Qawwals of the Dargah to celebrate the conclusion of the popular four-day fest �Urs of Hazrat Amir Khusro' held every year. Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah is a tomb of Amir Khusro - noted musician, scholar and poet, also known as �father of qawwali'.

Australia live music industry adds $1.21 bn to economy: reports

MUMBAI: Australia's live music industry contributed $1.21 billion to the national economy last year, according to a report by Ernst & Young. The report states that Australia's 3904 live music venues generated $652 million in profits and wages in 2009/2010, supporting 14,806 full-time equivalent positions. NSW was the largest contributor, accounting for 32 per cent of industry revenue, followed by Queensland (24 per cent) and Victoria (22 per cent).
