Ssumier Pasricha releases his first-ever religious single 'Teri Jyota Toh Balihari'

MUMBAI: Delhi-born Actor Ssumier Pasricha who had shot to fame with his viral videos 'Pammi Aunty', recently released his new religious single 'Teri Jyota Toh Balihari'. Releasing this single is a very special moment for the multitalented actor as he always wanted to make it big as a singer, but destiny had other plans and he ended up being an actor. Finally, after 22 yrs he has got the opportunity to release his first-ever single.

Born in India; New Delhi, Ssumier Pasricha is an Indian Television and Film Actor having risen to popularity portraying Shubroto in 'Code Red' (Indian TV series), Shailu in 'Sasural Simar Ka' on Colors (TV channel) & Randy Bhai in a Musical English play 'Mahim Junction' produced & directed by Shekhar Kapur/Sohaila Kapoor. His creation 'Pammi Aunty' on social media has become a rage among the audience. Ssumier had also performed Pammi aunty acts in the popular show 'Comedy Nights Bachao' on Colors channel. On an off the actor performs a play 'Amavas Se Amaltas' in Delhi.

Pammi Aunty is a middle-aged Punjabi woman who has opinions about everything. This character who has taken the internet by storm has spared nothing from demonetization to UEFA Euro 2016, Airtel 4G, Pokemon game and Game of Thrones etc. She rants about everything under the sun. Sporting giant pink glasses, her hair tied in a towel with the stuck-on curlers she criticises her daughter-in-law in her typical Punjabi accent. This Punjabi aunty is on a roll and she is hilarious.

Celebrities such as late veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, and British-Indian director Gurinder Chadha, have publicly appreciated the 'Pammi Aunty' videos. Ssumier was a brand ambassador of Jordan tourism board, he was also the recipient of Lloyd OSM Humour King of the year Award. He has also awarded the title of “Entertainer Of The Year”. The recognition is done by a US-based South Asian content website, DissDash which caters to South Asians from across the globe. He also received best comic actor by Talent Track Awards for digital media actor. He also got an opportunity to deliver a ten-minute speech at TED Talks event held in Chandigarh.

The Actor turned singer has endorsed brands like Harpic, 7Up, Tanishq, Honor 8 phone, Kurkure and many more. He also promotes various brands and films by collaborating with them.

On a personal front, Ssumier is a Kuchipudi dancer and trained classical singer. He is also deeply involved in raising a voice for social causes like Cancer, AIDS, Homosexuality, Pollution and differently-abled people.
The Punjabi actor is fluent in 6 languages, he has worked in more than 30 plays and has performed in both National and International theatre festivals with renowned directors like Sohaila Kapur, Shekhar Kapur, Vivek Mansukhani, Sabina Mehta Jeitly.
