Brighton Music Conference Reschedules to 1st & 2nd October

MUMBAI: The UK government has advised that from the 1st of October 2020 trade shows, exhibitions and conferences will be allowed to take place and after much research and advice from partners, sponsors and government officials, the Brighton Music Conference (BMC) team have decided to move the dates back seven days to the 1st and 2nd October.

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive feedback from the industry and there is a real feeling that people want to get together and share experiences to help our industry survive this situation. Giving the next generation an opportunity to meet their peers to learn and network is also something we feel is important for the future of the industry. We are all looking forward to the event and bringing the industry back together for the first time.” - The BMC Team

Taking place at the prestigious British Airways i360 venue on Brighton’s beachfront, the award-winning event will also have an adjusted programme for its seventh edition, but will maintain the high level of panels and talks, with key industry speakers, including in-depth discussions and debates on the biggest issues facing the electronic and wider music industry such as diversity, mental health, streaming, the environment and current music and business trends.

All decisions have been and will continue to be based on scientific evidence and public health assessments and event organisers will continue to monitor the ongoing situation. The event will adhere to all government guidelines, with a written risk assessment and mitigations put in place to reduce the risk of Covid-19 transmission.

In order to comply with the new guidelines both venue & theatre capacity has been reduced accordingly, so only a limited amount of tickets remain. More information about the updated BMC programme will be released soon.

Brighton Music Conference would like to thank everyone for their continued support, especially the i360, sponsors and partners.

We can’t help everyone in the industry but everyone in the industry can help someone.

Some word of support from some of BMC’s partners and friends:

“It’s great that the Brighton Music Conference (BMC) is happening at the start of October. The electronic music industry has been one of the hardest hit by the Coronavirus Crisis, and it’s important that networking/information-sharing events such as BMC are held — in a safe way — in order for the industry to work together and seek solutions to emerge out the other side.” Carl Loben, DJ Mag Editor

"We support BMC in its decision to move the conference back to the 1st/2nd October 2020, adhering to the safety measures in line with Government Regulations, with a focus on ensuring the event can take place in a safe environment, Brighton Music Conference is one of the shining lights of the music industry, its commitment to industry education, technology and talent has stood testament to its growth and success over the last 7 years" - Michael Kill, CEO NTIA

“Brighton Music Conference is set to run at the start of October and will be the first physical electronic music conference in many months. From discussions with the organisers, they are planning an inspiring educational event with robust safety standards for the industry to share knowledge and know-how to build a positive future for the scene.” - Greg Marshall, AFEM General Manager

"The news that BMC is going ahead in October is a much-needed boost for the electronic music industry. Finally, a chance to come together in-person to network while knowing our safety is being taken seriously. We can start talking, paving the way for solutions. The collaboration of the industry will allow us to move forward together" - Della Rush, AudioLock Chief Operating Officer
