Maya the Drag Queen conveys message to the society to liberate love

MUMBAI: While our lives have been recently stripped to the minimum by a virus Vh1 Pride brings unconditional spirit of love a virtual Pride Parade with prominent faces of the LGBTQIA+ community where Maya the Drag Queen is one of them.

Sharing the experience with Vh1 Pride, “It was great. I love the fact that there were diverse identities getting featured and expressing how they were enjoying the virtual pride. It's important to share stories and make people understand that we are humans at the end of the day”.

Maya the Drag Queen agrees that LGBTQ has made progress over recent years but people from the community still face almost endless numbers of obstacles. We still need to achieve marriage equality, adoption rights, insurance for same sex couples, rights for transgender community and so many more. He believes that education is essential and it is required at the moment. People are clueless about the community. He’s happy and glad that Lalit Group of Hotels and Keshav Suri Foundation are making initiatives to educate people through social media and other platforms.

As an artist, how do you influence fans? On this Maya the Drag Queen said, “I educate my fans either through a video or a post”. He would like his fans to learn more about the community. Right now, ignorance is rampant. Making an effort to know the LGBTQIA community and understand where they are coming from.

“Love liberates. I know it's difficult to give love. But at least, trying won't harm you in any way. Give and take love should be the motto” Maya the Drag Queen concluded with a message to the society.
